Department of History of Art

 

This prestigious prize was established by Margarethe II, the Queen of Denmark, and is named in her honour. The prize is awarded annually to an outstanding scholar working on Rome and/or the study of classical history, language, and culture. Dr Kynan-Wilson was awarded the prize for his research on medieval Rome which he undertook as a Visiting Fellow at the Danish Academy in Rome. He is currently a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at Aalborg University and is funded by the Danish Council for Independent Research. He completed his PhD in the department under the supervision of Professor Paul Binski. The Department would like to congratulate him on this notable achievement.
