Supervisor: Dr Donal Cooper

Research overview:

Francesca is an AHRC-funded PhD candidate in the Department of History of Art at the University of Cambridge, supervised by Dr Donal Cooper. Her research explores the role of Domenico Veneziano in mid-15th-century Florence. It does so by considering his key works as site-specific projects for particular contexts and by re-evaluating them against the general run of Florentine artistic patronage in the 1440s.

Biography:

Francesca previously read History of Art at the Universities of Rome La Sapienza (BA cum laude, 2014), Florence (MA cum laude, 2017) and Paris 1 (Visiting student, 2015-2016). She continued her studies at St John’s College, Cambridge with an MPhil (Distinction, 2019) funded by an AHRC DTP Studentship.
