The Cambridge Courtauld Russian Art Centre (CCRAC) is a joint initiative between the Department of History of Art, University of Cambridge, and The Courtauld Institute of Art, London, to provide a forum for the investigation of Russian and Soviet art.

Arising from significant research over many years among faculty and graduate students in both institutions, it aims to stimulate debate, support collaborative work, and generate and disseminate research on all aspects of the visual arts, architecture, design, and exhibitions in Russia and the Soviet Union.

The University of Cambridge and The Courtauld Institute of Art have both pioneered undergraduate and graduate teaching in these areas. Members of staff have also been involved in many ventures to take the study of Russian art and architecture further afield, through exhibitions, museum displays, work with schools, and the broadcast media. CCRAC builds on this expertise to provide a new focus for the investigation of Russian art, taking research and interest to a new level, while at the same time creating a dynamic interface between cutting edge research and the subject's growing audiences outside academia.

The project was recently awarded a grant from the Cambridge Humanities Research Grants Scheme to enable Dr Blakesley to employ a Research Associate to work with her on CCRAC related activities for the first six months of 2012.
