Professor Alyce Mahon curated SADE: Freedom or Evil a major exhibition on the Marquis de Sade and his legacies in modern and contemporary art for the CCCB in Barcelona May 15-Oct 15, 2023 and produced the accompanying exhibition catalogue (published by CCCB and Direcció de Comunicació de la Diputació de Barcelona, 2023) and a series of impactful events and a short film about the show.
Professor Rosalind Polly Blakesley published her monograph, Women Artists in the Reign of Catherine the Great, the first ever account of women artists under Europe’s most resolute empress. The book was nominated for Apollo Magazine Book of the Year 2023 (Lund Humphries, 27th January 2023).
