The Department would like to congratulate Zac T. Rose who will begin working this month at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, California—one of the most comprehensive and respected collections of South and East Asian art in the world. As manager of communications, he will oversee a wide range of the Museum’s audience development initiatives, working closely with educators and curators to ensure visitors are immersed in rich and rewarding art experiences. 

A fellow of the Wiener-Anspach Foundation, Zac recently completed his PhD in the History of Art, where his dissertation explored the evolution of shared visual languages of advertising in Brussels between 1830 and 1860. His work assesses how affordable print ephemera mediated a crucial transformation in Belgian consumer consciousness during this period. Prior to returning to Cambridge, Zac was based in New York City where he worked with major museums and other cultural organizations on strategic communications. Zac completed his MPhil at Cambridge in the History of Architecture and holds a BA from Columbia University in English and Comparative Literature.
