Research Interests
In my thesis I am focusing on the links between Horace Walpole's self-creation and establishing alternative, anti-rational modes of writing history.
My other interests include:
- questions and representations of 'the animal' in early modern period;
- global art history and cultural translations (particularly the role of chinoiserie in 18th-century British visual culture);
- relation between textuality and image (especially in Gothic fiction);
- feminist and queer theory;
- medieval architecture.
