The annual prize, presented by the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain, is awarded to encourage new architectural historians. Other winners of the Hawksmoor medal amongst Faculty members and alumni include Frank Salmon (now Will's supervisor), Alex Bremner, Tom Nickson, Otto Saumarez Smith and Richard Butler.
