The Department would like to congratulate MPhil student, Christina Farley, who reached the Cambridge Final of the Three Minute Thesis competition, where graduate students have 3 minutes to explain their research to a non-specialist audience.

Christina was the only arts student in the final, and one of two runners up. Her talk was on 'Clocks in Tudor Portraits.'

The Three Minute Thesis Competition gives graduate students just three minutes (180 seconds) to explain their research to a non-specialist audience. Invented in Queensland, Australia, this was the first year the competition has run in Cambridge. The aim is to increase the impact of students' research, by making it accessible to a broad audience. The top three finalists won the opportunity to discuss their research further with the University's Vice Chancellor last week.

Christina Farley completed her undergraduate degree in the Department, graduating with First Class Honours last year. She hopes to start an AHRC-funded PhD in religious imagery in Tudor and Stuart England in October 2015.
