Nicola received her PhD and MPhil from the Department where she was supervised by Dr Rosalind P. Blakesley. She is a specialist in
nineteenth- and twentieth-century European and Russian art, and her current book project is entitled Visual Culture and the Construction of Russian Émigré Identity. Her co-edited volume, Modernism and the Spiritual in Russian Art: New Perspectives, is forthcoming with Open Book Publishers.
Her research has recently been sponsored by the Getty Research Institute and the Likhachev Foundation, and her PhD was funded by the Cambridge Trusts' Cambridge International Scholarship. She holds an MA from University College London and a BA (Honors) from Brown University.
