The Department is pleased to announce that Josefine Baark will be joining the Department of Visual Studies at Lingnan University as a visiting Assistant Professor.

Lingnan University is a liberal arts university in Hong Kong, where Josefine shall be teaching the core course 'Hong Kong Visual Culture' and a special subjects course, 'Arts and Sciences 1400-1950'.

Josefine recently passed her PhD viva voce defence and will be graduating from the University of Cambridge this summer. Entitled, 'In the Company of Strangers: Danish Asiatic Trading Networks and Material Culture 1620-1780’ and supervised by Professor Jean Michel Massing, her thesis sought to question early modern economic and material culture in the exchanges between Asia and Europe. During the final six months of her PhD, she was awarded a lectureship at Hong Kong University Department of Fine Arts. The Department would like to congratulate Josefine on her appointment.
