The National Gallery of Australia's collections include more than 100,000 works of art across four main areas: Australian art, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander art, Asian art and International art. Works in the Gallery are part of Australia's national collection. Olivia is currently researching the permanent collection of Indian paintings and working on a touring exhibition for 2012: Stars of the Tokyo Stage – Natori Shunsen’s Kabuki actor prints from the 1920s and 30s.

Olivia’s thesis, ‘The European Presence in Japanese Screen Painting of the Late Sixteenth and Early Seventeenth Centuries’ was supervised by Professor Jean Michel Massing.
