The Department would like to congratulate Andrew Chen who has been elected to a Research Fellowship at St John’s College, Cambridge.

Andrew, who is supervised by Prof. Jean Michel Massing, has recently submitted a PhD dissertation entitled ‘Flagellant Confraternities. Image and Experience in Ritual Context, 1260-1530’.  He completed the MPhil in History of Art and Architecture at Cambridge in 2012 and received his AB from Harvard in 2011.  From June 2013 to July 2015, he was a predoctoral fellow at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz - Max-Planck-Institut.

 The Fellowship will last for three years from 1 October 2016.
