The department was delighted to welcome ten fantastic students from across the country as part of the History of Art Sutton Trust Summer School this week. The students got the chance to experience life as a Cambridge undergraduate, staying at Murray Edwards College and attending undergraduate-style lectures and seminars, and classes in the Fitzwilliam Museum and Corpus Christi College's Parker Library. The week concluded with a Q&A session on admissions, with a current Director of Studies. The programme aimed to introduce the students to university life, and to History of Art as a subject, as it is rarely taught in state-maintained schools.

The Sutton Trust is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for students from non-privileged backgrounds, and runs many different subject summer schools each year in Cambridge and across the UK. For more information, see their website: http://summerschools.suttontrust.com
