14th January 2016 sees the official launch of Dr Alexander Marr’s project ‘Genius before Romanticism: Ingenuity in Early Modern Art & Science’. Hosted at CRASSH and funded by a €1.8 million Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council.

The project examines the culture of ingenuity in Europe ca. 1450-ca. 1750.  The project will run for five years and employs three Post-Doctoral Research Associates: Dr Raphaële Garrod, Dr José Ramón Marcaida and Dr Richard Oosterhoff.

The Department wishes to extend its congratulations to Dr Marr for having secured such a notable grant to further his research within the field of Art History.
